The 4th Battalion, 41st Artillery Regiment Legacy
Activated on 14 January 1963 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the 4th Missile Battalion, 41st Artillery Regiment deployed to West Germany in 1964 with Pershing 1 missiles. Garrisoned at Hardt and Bismark Kasernes in Schwäbisch Gmünd under the 56th Artillery Group, the battalion expanded from four to eight launchers and upgraded to 36 Pershing 1a missiles in 1969, standing ready throughout the Cold War.
